Gujarat Lions as been successful away from home with out losing a game and at home lost 3 out of 5 games played at Rajkot. While Hyderabad as mixed results with 3: 2 win ratio at home, now Gujarat look to continue their away form, as Hyderabad seek to capitalize on home advantage on Friday.
Gujarat seems slipping it's winning momentum after back to back losses at home and their wins earlier covered their thin batting lineup with blazing opening stands. But Gujarat as struggled a lot in the 3 losses where openers failed, it shows their dependence heavily on top 4 with the bat.
Meanwhile bowling as been consistent enough up front with DK and PK, but in the last two games bowlers couldn't do much with their poor show with bat. Although their death bowling is also an area of concern which covered by big runs from batsmen.
On the other side Hyderabad is not far behind from Gujarat in terms of dependence heavily on the top order, where Warner alone leading the side in most games. But availability of Yuvraj will strengthen their batting now along side Dhawan and Williamson.
While bowling as been consistent enough so far in this season for sunrises and with addition of Nehra in the previous games made it formidable enough along with Henriques.
The pitch may not be dry enough for spinners with showers on Thursday and predicted rain on Friday. In the last game against Bangalore batsmen dominated with bulk of runs, although Pacers have done well at Hyderabad and with the moisture around they will be handy early on.
In the meantime Hyderabad consider replacing Yuvraj in place of Hooda or Ashish Reddy and Rajkot look for fitness of Bravo with axe one of overseas player. While the Contest gonna lie heavily on between top order batsmen of either sides and with the win against Gujarat in previous encounter Sunrises holds edge.
